Sakalava Bay is easily accessible by car. Coming from Diego Suarez, there is after ten kilometres a junction at the small village [[Ankorikakely]] (respectively eight kilometres from [[Ramena]]). From there on an unpaved sandy road leads for another six kilometres to Sakalava Bay. Alternatively it is possible to walk from the village Ramena via [[Baie des Dunes]], [[Baie des Pigeon]]s to Sakalava Bay. This nature walk takes between 2.5 and 3 hours.

The beach of Sakalava Bay is several kilometres long. On the far south side mangroves are growing. The waters around a rocky islet are best suited for kite- and windsurfing. During low tide sandbanks emerge in the bay. A trail leaving from the north side of the beach leads to another two beaches, of which teh second one is the most beautiful.

There are two hotels along the beach. The Sakalava Lodge has a windsurfing and kitesurfing school. Next to the hotels are small local restaurants, offering basic meals such as seafood and coconut rice to day trippers.
