Foch Square is a small square in the centre of Diego Suarez (Antsiranana). The statue of Philibert Tsiranana, the "father of independence", stands in the middle of the square. Philibert Tsiranana was Madagascar's first President who ruled the country from 1959 to 1972.
The square is a popular meeting place amongst locals chatting in the shade of large trees, especially during lunch time. Various warm and cold Malagasy snacks are sold by women at the side of the square.
The tourist office has an information stand at the square.
