Arivonimamo (or Arivonimamy) is a town in the central highlands of Madagascar of about 10,000 people, with about 19,000 people in the entire area. The town is located ca. 40km west of Antananarivo along the RN1 national route. Madagascar's international airport was once situated in Arivonimamo until it was replaced by Ivato International Airport in 1967. The old airport, Arivonimamo Air Base, lies about 3km from town and now serves as an international stand-by airport.
