Tour description

Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo or Tana

Arrival at Ivato International Airport, meeting and assistance by our English speaking agent. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2: Tana - Perinet / Mantadia National Park (B/L/D)


Breakfast and departure to Andasibe, 150km east of Tana for about 3h30 drive through a beautiful landscape of rice paddies and wooded hills. Visit Peyrieras Reserve on the way. This reserve has a remarkable reptile collection with about 20 species of chameleons, from the largest in the world called the Parson's chameleon of approximately 60cm length to the smallest in the world, the Brookesia minima. There are also amazing colourful frogs such as mantellas and Tomato frogs, geckos, tenrecs, snakes and insects. Continuation to Andasibe and free lunch. At sunset, we go for a night walk in the rainforest to observe the nocturnal fauna: Goodman’s mouse lemur, chameleon… Free dinner and overnight in Andasibe on half board for three nights.

Day 3: Andasibe - Analamazaotra National Park (B/L/D)
Breakfast at the hotel and during the morning we discover the Analamazaotra National Park. We observe the largest lemur the Indri and the Diademed sifaka and other species of lemurs such as the bamboo lemurs. About one hundred bird species live in this middle altitude rainforest, amongst them are the Scaly ground-roller and the Brown mesite. If we are lucky, we will find the big Parson's chameleon and colourful frogs like the Golden mantella. It is also an opportunity to discover the beauty of the evergreen rainforest and other places, such as the sacred waterfall and the natural swimming pool. Free lunch and in the afternoon we visit the Vakona Private Reserve, where we will approach four species of lemurs living on a little island. The highlight of this visit is that you can feed the lemurs and pet them. They will jump on your shoulders and heads.

Day 4: Andasibe - Manambato - Ankanin’ny Nofy (B/L/D)

Breakfast at the lodge and departure to Manambato (3h30 drive). Arrival and speedboat transfer on the Canal des Pangalanes to Ankanin’ny Nofy (1h). Arrival and free lunch at the lodge. Leisure afternoon. At sunset, we go by boat to a small island to observe the very rare Aye-aye, a nocturnal species. Return to the hotel. Free dinner. Night in Ankanin’ny Nofy.

Day 5: Ankanin’ny Nofy - Tamatave (B/L/D)


Breakfast at the lodge and during the morning visit of the Palmarium Reserve. The reserve is on the grounds of a former palm plantation. The forest shelters Black-and-white ruffed lemur and Brown lemur and carnivore plants. 
Free lunch and speedboat transfer to Tamatave (3h). Arrival and transfer to the hotel, free dinner. Night in Tamatave.

Day 6: Tamatave - Tana (B)


Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to the airport for the flight from Tamatave to Tana. End of services.
