The kabiry is a traditional musical instrument of the Antankarana people, an ethnic group living in the north of Madagascar. The kabiry is a kind of a trumpet, which is played especially during royal ceremonies.

Every year in July and August the Kabiry Festival is organised over four days in Ambilobe. Since year 2000, this cultural and artistic event aims to showcase the culture of the Antankarana people so that their future generations will remember their traditions and customs. About 3,500 people usually participate in this festival.
