A road in good condition connects Antalaha with [[Sambava]] where there is a domestic airport with daily flights. There is an International maritime harbour in the centre of town. The 80 kilometres drive by [[taxi-brousse]] from Sambava takes about 1½ hours. Other more adventurous routes are a 3-5 day hike across the [[Masoala|Masoala peninsula]] starting from [[Maroantsetra]] or via [[Cap Est]]. It's sometimes possible to catch a cargo boat from [[Maroantsetra]], [[Sainte Marie]] or [[Toamasina]] (Tamatave).
