Ambositra, meaning “where there are many cattle”, is a [[Betsileo]] town in Madagascar with around 30,000 inhabitants, many whom are students. The town is renowned for woodcarving and there are countless stores selling souvenirs and other wood products, especially around the 1½km central ring road.
