Coming from Diego Suarez, after ten kilometres there is a junction at the small village of Ankorikakely (respectively eight kilometres from Ramena) from where an unpaved sandy road leads another six kilometres to Sakalava Bay. Alternatively it is possible to walk to Sakalava Bay from the village of Ramena via Baie des Dunes and Baie des Pigeons. This nature walk takes between 2.5 and 3hours.  The beach at Sakalava Bay is several kilometres long. On the far south side mangroves are growing. The area around a rocky islet is best suited for kite and windsurfing. During low tide sandbanks emerge in the bay. A trail leaving from the north side of the beach leads to two unnamed beaches, of which the second one is the most beautiful. {| class="imageTable"|-||align="center" | |align="right"|

There are various kitesurfing schools with accommodation directly on the beach of Sakalava Bay, amongst them Sakalava Lodge, Royal Sakalava and KiteParadise. Additional schools such as Mada Ocean Kite & Windsurf and La Case en Falafy Kitesurf with accommodation in Ramena. Next to the hotels are small local restaurants, offering basic meals such as seafood and coconut rice to visitors of the beach.  <googlemap versiondiv style="0.9" lat=max-width:600px;"></div>  == Accommodation / Kitesurf schools == Varatraza Wind Riders Ecolodge<br>Sakalava Bay<br>Tel : +261 (0)32 40 470 69<br>Skype: skypeniceole<br>Email: [mailto:niceole@varatraza.com niceole@varatraza.com] La Case en Falafy Kitesurf (Ramena)<br>Tel: +261 32 28 782 74 (Tsiry) / +261 32 67 270 29 (Maba) / +261 32 02 674 33 (Lala)<br>Website: www.kitesurf-casenfalafy.com KiteParadise<br>Tel: +852 94 35 51 04<br>Website: www.kiteparadise-madagascar.com Royal Sakalava (17 bungalows)<br>Tel: +261 (0)20 8292636 / +261 (0)32 0577705 (mobile)<br>Website: www.royalsakalava.com<br> Sakalava Lodge (15 bungalows)<br>Tel: +261 (0)32 67 385 95 (mobile)<br>Website: www.270064, 49sakalava.39333com<br> Ocean Lodge<br>Sakalava Bay<br>Tel +261 034 46 577 85<br>Email: [mailto:oceanlodge.kite@gmail.com oceanlodge.kite@gmail.com]<br>Website: https://kitesurf-madagascar.com == Video == <HTML5video type="youtube" width="600" height="338">Mx79aFGSlXY</googlemapHTML5video>
