The Cassam Chenaï house is located on Colbert Street in the centre of Diego Suarez. The house once belonged to an Indian familiy and is proof of early settlement by the Indians in northern Madagascar.
A sign in front of the building reads: Cassam Chenaï family got settled in Diego Suarez toward 1895. Constructed in 1925, the house presents the common features of the Indian houses: interior court, apartments overhanging the store and terraces carried by fluted columns.
