The Mikea people live in the dry forests and arid steppes northeast of Toilara in the region of the Ihotry lake in the southwest of Madagascar. They are a small nomadic population, who feeds mainly on roots (babou). Until today, the Mikea people have preserved their own lifestyle without any constraints.
