Arivonimamo (or Arivonimamy) is a town with about 22,000 inhabitants close to and about 45km west of Antananarivo along the RN1 national route. Madagascar's international airport was once located in Arivonimamo until replaced by Ivato international airport in 1967. Arivonimamo now serves as an international standby airport.
