The Cap Sainte Marie Special Reserve, also known as Cape VOHIMENA, lies in the Androy region of the Tulear provice of southern Madagascar. Cap Sainte Marie Special Reserve is located 63km south of Tsihombe and 230km from Fort Dauphin.
The reserve covers and 1,750 hectares with altitudes between 110m and 199m. The climate is moderately dry with average annual rainfall between 350mm to 377mm. Average temperature is 24°C with maximum of 38°C and a minimum of 11°C.
