Editing and adding Flash videos
== Editing and adding Flash videos ==
While Google and YouTube offers an easy conversion process from an original video file format to streaming FLV (Flash video) format by simply uploading videos a video on their portals and which can thereafter be embedding them on any page of this site, both Google or and YouTube videos will automatically display links to other and usually irellevant irrelevant videos at the end of the stream, often in combination wtih with advertising. To avoid such irellavant content from being appended to displayed at the end of your video, upload your a ready converted video directly on MadaCamp instead. But first First you need to know how to convert the video into FLV format.

If your video has been shot with a digital camera, it is most likely not in the necessary FLV format to begin with. Your original may be Mpeg, AVI, Quicktime or some other standard format. The conversion to FLV can be done using an advanced video converter and editor, such as [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avidemux Avidemux]. Avidemux is a video editor available for free download on all operating systemsystems. Within Avidemux, open the video file, select FLV format via the ''Video'', ''Audio'' and ''Format'' selectors. Optionally add filters. Give the new video file an .flv extension and ''Save Video''. Thereafter upload the newly created FLV file and add it onto a page, as follows:
<nowiki>[[File:Video.flv]]</nowiki>
<nowiki>[[File:Video.flv|300x375px]]</nowiki>
Alternatively, [http://ffmpeg.org FFmpeg] is an n excellent and free video editing tool, but which requires command line editing. This is usually only done by Linux and OSX Mac expert usersexperts.
For Windows users, an easy-to-use FLV creation tool is the [http://www.miksoft.net/mobileMediaConverter.htm Mobile Media Converter]. While Mobile Media Converter lacks advanced video editing features, its simplicity makes the conversion process very easy for beginnerscasual users.
