Antohomaro is a small village by Lake Andohabe, commonly referred to as Lake Antohomaro, about 7km from Sambava in the direction of Antalaha.
Although the lake is known to be home to crocodiles, locals bathe and wash their clothes by the lakeshore near the village. The crocodilian residents reportedly prefer the more southern area of the lake and are not commonly sighted.
On a clear day, the peak of Marojejy is visible in the far distance across the lake.
