Hotel Fitsaharana, literally meaning a pause or a rest, is located in the village of Ambalaharongana on the Masoala Peninsula in the north east of Madagascar. The hotel is easy recognisable as it is the only 2-storey building in the village.
As of 2014, there were only simple rooms available on the ground floor. The upper floor has been unmaintained and could be much improved. The restaurant offers generously sized meals in Malagasy tradition. The coffee after the meal can be best enjoyed on the second floor balcony whilst observing the village life down below.
