Za is the Malagasy word for baobab tree. Another not so common word for baobab tree is bozy.
There are eight species of baobabs worldwide, of which six grow only on Madagascar. About 15 kilometres north of Morondava, some giant baobabs form the famous Baobab Avenue.
The oval shaped fruits of the baobab have a velutinous surface.
