The Black Lemur Camp Cave Circuit begins with a trek through the village of Anjahakely and into the valley below Black Lemur Camp until reaching the cave entry after about 4km. A labyrinth of narrow passages decorated with limestone rock art created by endless geological time will take approximately 40 minutes to pass through.
This may be a chilling experience to the slightly claustrophobic and who fear the odd spider encounter but incredibly cute little bats who have made this cave their home will entertain alien visitors with their flying circuses.
Do not bring a big rucksack or bulky equipment as some of the cave's passages are very narrow. A tall or large framed person will not fit through everywhere. Bring a flashlight or headlamp and a guide who knows the way or you may risk not finding the exit!
The return trek to the camp follows the same route as to the cave.
