Fiarakaretsaka is the original Malagasy word for taxi. Due to the predominant French influence on Madagascar, the much shorter word taksy (taxi) has been adopted from the French language. In Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, almost all taxis are a classic Citroën 2CV.
