Domaine du Lac is a privately owned botanical and zoological garden, eight kilometres from Ivato Airport. The park covers an area or 2.5ha. As its name indicates, it is located directly at a lake. Visitors can find numerous plant species and various animals, such as lemurs, tortoises, chameleons, snakes and frogs in the park.
In the main building by the entrance is a restaurant. Although the preparation of meals can take a bit long, as everything is prepared fresh, the food is good.
From the airport, Domaine du Lac can be reached in about 30 minutes by car. Follow the road direction Croc Farm and thereafter continue several kilometres, over rice field, pass through a village and continue the road until eventually turning right at the Domaine du Lac sign.
The entrance fee for Malagasy visitors is 5,000 Ariary and 10,000 Ariary for foreigner visitors (prices 2014).
