During low tide sandbanks emerge in the bay. A trail leaving from the north side of the beach leads to another two beaches, of which teh second one is the most beautiful.
Currently there are two hotels along the beach, the building of a third one is scheduled for spring 2013. The Sakalava Lodge as well as the Royal Sakalava have a windsurfing and kitesurfing centre. Next to the hotels are small local restaurants, offering basic meals such as seafood and coconut rice to day trippers.
