Black Lemur Camp Viewpoint Circuit
The Black Lemur Camp Viewpoint Circuit is an approximately 4-hour trekking route that starts at Black Lemur Camp and through the forested habitat of the endangered Perrier's sifaka lemur and further onto a 624m peak with stunning views of the SAVA region towards the south and the Diana region towards the north.
The way up leads through the forest trail which is the most likely part to encounter lemurs. The descent can either be made on the southwest side of the mountain which will join a footpath connecting the Diana and SAVA region or if you missed the lemurs, choose the northwest return route you came from, which in all becomes slightly less distance.
The route towards the southwest, however, offers more scenic views of the surrounding landscapes and will lead to a small cascade to cool down in and where birds, such as the Karaoko, can often be spotted. The walk thereafter continues for another 2.5km of easy trail until the camp.
