Marofinaritra is the last accessible village by car coming along the road from Antalaha. Marofinaritra is an uncharming place, with plenty of well-stocked shops, small restaurants and a hotel along the main road.
The village serves more as a base to stock up with goods which are not available in the villages along the trail direction Maroantsetra.
From Marofinaritra to Antalaha it is about 26km.
