Sambava-Ambohimitsinjo-Farahalana-Sambava by bike

Turning left onto a secondary road just north of Sambava, this route runs along hilltops with stunning views of the surrounding hillscapes until the villages of Antisraka and Ambohimitsinjo.

The road and sometimes trail continues at lower altitudes through nature, vanilla plantations and along rice fields until the Maheva river. The route thereafter runs through the villages of Ambodimanga, Masovariaka until arriving at Farahalana where the RN5a turns north back to Sambava.

During times of much rain, the road along the river between Ambodimanga and Farahalana gets very muddy and more or less unbikeable in places.
