Central Hotel is located in the centre of Tulear, close to the fruit and vegetable market and several good restaurants. The rooms with the balcony overlooking the square are spacious and competitively priced, starting at 25,000 Ariary for a double and 30,000 Ariary for a room with two double beds.
A general supplies store located on the ground level sell a wide variety of utility items, such tent equipment, batteries, rechargers, phone cards and other things which may be useful on excursions. The store also has several PCs with internet access, although the computers are not very fast.
