Ambohitrabiby is one of the twelve sacred hills of the ancient Merina Kingdom, located in the north of Antananarivo.
Where Ralambo reigned circa 1600; he is remembered a skillful and cunning warrior. He is believed to have created the caste hierarchy of the nobles or Andriana. He also gave the name Imerina to his kingdom, or more precisely Imerina Ambaniandro, an illusion to the fact that he dominated his kingdom with only the sun above him... (Text by Isabelle Ratsira)
