The kabiry is a traditional musical instrument of the Antankarana people, an ethnic group living in the north of Madagascar. The kabiry is some kind of a trumpet, which is especially played during royal ceremonies.

Every year in July and August the Kabiry Festival is organised for four days in Ambilobe. Since 2000, this cultural and artistic event aims to showcase the culture of the Antankarana so that the future generations know about their traditions and customs. About 3,500 people usually participate the festival.
