Tour description
Day 1: Your home country - Madagascar - Antsirabe
You are most welcome, I will meet you after your arrival at Ivato International Airport Madagascar, after your formality and money changing, in Antananarivo. You will be transferred to Antsirabe. Hotel overnight at Green Park Antsirabe. Breakfast included.
Day 2: Antsirabe - Ranomafana
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive to Ranomafana. Optional quick stop at Ambositra, Madagascar’s handicrafts capital. Late afternoon arrival in Ranomafana. Opening night walk in the park with your English-speaking naturalist guide in search of endemic chameleons, frogs, insects and mouse lemurs and luckily dwarf lemurs. Overnight at Centrest Hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 3: Ranomafana National Park
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning visit of Ranomafana National Park teeming with endemics, such as the critically endangered Greater bamboo lemur, and other species namely Golden Bamboo lemur, Milne-Edwards's sifaka and endemic chameleons, frogs, birds and plant species. Another night walk to search for more endemics. Overnight at Centrest Hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 4: Ranomafana - Anja Reserve - Ranohira
Breakfast at the hotel. Early morning departure to Ambalavao, south of Fianarantsoa. Visit Anja Park, a community-run nature reserve and home of hundreds of Ring-tailed lemurs of different groups, for a unique wildlife photo opportunity with your local naturalist guide and spotters. Chameleons like Oustalet’s chameleon (Malagasy giant chameleon), etc. Drive on to Ranohira, the gateway to Isalo National Park. Overnight at Isalo Ranch. Breakfast included.
Day 5: Isalo National Park
Early breakfast and morning visit of the famous La Piscine Naturelle and Namaza canyon to discover interesting landscape characterised by amazing rock formations and to learn about the Bara tribe’s culture. Ring-tailed lemurs and endemic birds may be encountered along the way. Plan a picnic lunch in the park at the blue or black pool. Then continue the hike and early afternoon drive back to the hotel.
Overnight at Isalo Ranch. Breakfast included.
Day 6: Isalo - Zombitse - Toliara
Breakfast at the hotel. Morning drive along the National Road 7. Amazing photo opportunities include colourful Mahafaly tombs and baobabs throughout this 4-hour road trip. Stop for a wildlife walk in Zombitse National Park to look for endemics including lemurs (Verreaux's sifaka, Hubbard’s sportive lemur...), and reptiles, such as chameleons. Overnight at Victory Hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 7: Toliara - Anakao
After early breakfast, boat transfer to the fishermen village Anakao. Its beach is amongst the most beautiful beaches in Madagascar, with white sugary sand, located in the south of Toliara (Tulear). One of the highlights here is whale safaris, also a visit to the small island Nosy Ve, where we can spot some migrant birds. Overnight at Lalandaka. Breakfast included.
Day 8: Anakao
Leisure day at the paradise beach. Overnight at Lalandaka. Breakfast included.
Day 9: Anakakao - Fianarantsoa
Early breakfast, thereafter boat transfer to Toliara and then drive back until Fianarantsoa. Along the way, we will enjoy the beautiful landscape of the southern part of Madagascar. Of course, you will feel like in the lost land, a wide-open space etc. Overnight at Zomatel Fianarantsoa. Breakfast included.
Day 10: Fianarantsoa - Morondava
Today we drive to Morondava for the Baobab photographing. After arrival in Morondava, you have time to relax. At 4pm departure to the Baobab Avenue (30 min drive). We observe the site at sunset when the light is the best. Then return to the hotel, free dinner. Overnight at Trecicogne Hotel. Breakfast included.
Day 11: Morondava - Bekopaka
Early breakfast at the hotel and get ready for a bumpy road drive to Tsingy de Bemaraha. We cross the Tsiribihina river by ferryboat, free lunch at Belo sur Tsiribihina. Thereafter another ferryboat crossing Manambolo river. Arrival in Bekopaka and installation at the hotel, free dinner. Overnight at Orchidée du Bemaraha. Breakfast included.
Day 12: Tsingy de Bemaraha
Long day tour to discover the Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park, world heritage site by the UNESCO. Pirogue ride along the Manambolo river to observe the limestone walls. Then we will discover the large Tsingy. We cross the cathedrals of limestone through the great gorge. We move between the various caves and reach several viewpoints. With a bit of luck, we can see the Van der Decken's sifaka. Return to the hotel, free dinner. Overnight at Orchidée du Bemaraha in Bekopaka. Breakfast included.
Day 13: Bekopaka - Morondava
Long day drive back to Morondava. At sunset photographing of Baobab Avenue, then drive back to the hotel.
Overnight at Trecicogne Hotel in Morondava. Breakfast included.
Day 14: Morondava to Tana flight or 12-Hour drive - International flight
After an early breakfast, a long day drive across the beautiful landscape back to Tana before your International flight back home. End of our services.
