Tours can be booked via specialised tour operators including international and domestic flights. <!--For example, XXX in the capital, XXX in the US, XXX in the UK and XXX in France.-->
Alternatively, make local arrangements directly via the Marojejy Guides Association. All its members are certified by Madagascar National Parks. Dealing directly with the local guides can offer the best value for both visitors and the guides. Most of the guides, all porters, cooks, forest guards and workers maintaining the trail are from the local communities.
Employment opportunities given to guides help preserve the park in that the local communities come to depend more on tourism than farming alone since they can profit only if the forest is maintained and preserved. Ecotourism encourages the local population to respect park boundaries and avoid overusing natural resources, such as clearing land in and around the forest area for farming purposes. Simply visiting the park fosters a mutually beneficial relationship between nature and the local communities as most guides, all porters, cooks, forest guards and those maintaining the trail are from the local communities.
