The crown is somewhat bulky and the branches are rather thick at the end. Dry bark peels of from the green trunk, leaving scars. Yellow brown, reddish wood with darker rings. Smooth, alternating leaves, crowded in clusters on the branches. Lateral nerves are visible on both sides of the leaves.   Leaves smooth, composed, alternate, crowded in clusters on the twigs, and in prominent lateral nerves visible on both sides, deciduous. Flowers polygamous dioecious male flower with petals folded concave pods, grouped into inflorescence drooping clusters. Female flowers clustered into sparse inflorescence, with recurved petals on top. Round, fleshy fruits with stone inside.
