Antsohihy (pronounced antsooee) is the capital of the Sofia and Antsohihy district, within the larger Mahajanga district of northern Madagascar. The town of had about 20,000 inhabitants in 2005.
Antsohihy has an airstrip that is serviced by Air Madagascar.
Antsohihy is connected inland with the Loza river that joins a waterway some 40-50 km leading to the ocean, past various villages and finally Ananalava, an isolated coastal village which during wet periods is only accessible by boat or light plane.
