Arivonimamo (or Arivonimamy) is a town with of about 10,000 and about 22,000 inhabitants close to and in the complete area by teh same name. The town is located about 45km 40km west of [[Antananarivo]] along the RN1 national route. Madagascar's international airport was once located in Arivonimamo , until replaced by [[Ivato]] international airport in 1967. Arivonimamo now Airport about 3km from the town serves as an international standby stand-by airport.
