Arivonimamo (or Arivonimamy) is a town of about 10,000 and people, with about 22,000 inhabitants people in the complete area by teh same nameentire district. The town is located about 40km west of [[Antananarivo]] along the RN1 national route. Madagascar's international airport was once located in Arivonimamo, until it was replaced by [[Ivato]] international airport in 1967. Arivonimamo Airport The old airport lies about 3km from the town and now serves as an the international stand-by airport.
