'''8 August 2020:''' 1 new death was recorded yesterday, bringing the total number of deaths related to Covid-19 to 135. There were also 182 new positive corona virus cases reported in Madagascar. The new cases are located mainly in Analamanga (141) as well as in 9 other regions: 2 in Itasy (Soavinandriana), 1 in Atsinanana, 2 in Amoron'i Mania ([[Ambositra]]), 8 in Ihorombe, 6 in Boeny, 2 in Betsiboka (Maevatanana), 1 in Sofia, 7 in Atsimo-Andrefana ([[Toliara]]) and 3 in Menabe ([[Morondava]]). In total, 12,708 Covid-19 cases were confirmed by testing, of which 2,161 are active cases. The total number of healings is 10,412, at a cure rate of 80.5%.
