There are two major chocolate manufacturers in Madagascar, Chocolaterie Robert and Cinagra. Both companies produce premium quality chocolate made with cocoa grown exclusively in Madagascar.
Cinagra and Chocolaterie Robert are so-called bean-to-bar chocolate makers of single origin, which both grow their cocoa and produce their chocolate in Madagascar.
Additionally, Chocolaterie Colbert is a brand of handmade pralines and chocolate bars is made by a team of dedicated chocolatiers that is sold only at Hotel Colbert's patisserie in Antananarivo, using ingredients supplied by Chocolaterie Robert and Cinagra. While their chocolate costs more than other Malagasy chocolate, Pâtisserie Colbert's small scale production and always fresh at the counter chocolate creations make ideal gifts.
