Banana Rova
Banana Rova is an outdoors garden restaurant with a small bar, lunch and dining room, approximately 20km north of Antananarivo en route the former royal residence of Ambohimanga, about ½ km before reaching the UNESCO World Heritage Site where the Ambohimanga Rova itself is located.
The Malagasy/French kitchen has a weekly changing menu and offers meals with fresh ingredients from its own spice garden and regional farmlands. In addition to the nearby cultural village of Ambohimanga, a stunning countryside awaits anyone wishing to discover the natural beauty of the Merina highlands. A small bungalow with a double room and modern facilities is available to guests wishing to stay longer. Trekking and guided tours of Ambohimanga Rova can be pre-arranged on location in combination with lunch and overnight stays.
The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday between 10am and 5pm but can also open at other times and days for special occasions, including dinners, birthdays, wedding parties etc. Contact Sylvie Cournarie for reservations.
